I was informed today by our attorney that a judge denied the writ to enforce the 3% arbitration award. If you will remember there was an arbitration award of 3% from the previous CBA. FOP intervened to protect your interest in this arbitration award when AFSCME filed a writ to enforce this award. Today the judge ruled against all parties to this writ. So there will be discussions as to how we proceed with respect to this matter. There is an opportunity to appeal the judges decision, but we must weigh the cost and the likelihood of success if we decide to pursue this further. Just wanted to keep all of you in the loop.
I realize it wouldn’t be on contingency. But the lodge has extra money and this is what is should be used for this has a huge financial benefit. Anyone who has 3 years or more would be looking at roughly $6,000 currently, and anyone who works overtime much more.
From my understanding we earned that money. It was our raise during the pandemic when we were 'essential' workers and the state refused to pay us. I don't know why we can't sue the state directly for that.
Lunkwitz, what ever you think is best for us officers, I’m trust FOP. God bless.
We absolutely need to push the issue on this. This is thousands of dollars per officer per year. There is no reason not to fight this.

Who is this judge?
