With the signing of AB 522, Governor Lombardo has ensured our Brothers and Sisters will receive a total increase in compensation of at least 34% over the next 2 years!!!! Combined with our contract, which includes additional compensation, you will all receive a 23% increase in pay July 1st, 2023. Then you will receive 4% July 1st, 2024. If AB 498 passes, PERS contributions from Employees will be reduced at least 7%, which increases your take home pay by the same amount. If AB 498 does not pass, you will receive an additional 7% raise on July 1st, 2024. This does not even account for the longevity pay that was also added in with AB 522. I would like to publicly thank Governor Joe Lombardo, all of the legislators, and senators who made this happen!!! Start spreading the news, FOP is very happy to deliver this news to all of you!!!!
I have a question that a few of my colleagues were asking too. I am sure many fall under this as well. For those who have Employer ONLY contributing to PERS. How do they get the 7% pay increase? How does this affect those if they're not contributing. Will they receive a 7% in different method? Possibly Increase of hourly rate? Thank you
The 7% would be salary. If 498 passes your PERS contribution would go down 12%. “Employer only” would see their gross salary increase by the same amount(12%).
For swing shift (shift diff), I might understand but not sure. Does all swing shift get shift diff on normal hours or is the shift diff only for other shifts doing overtime onto swings shift?
Words can't express my gratitude. I'm more happy for the officers who've been through hell and back over the years. Taking pay cuts and furloughs, then I am for myself. Thank you to all the officers who didn't give up and fought for F.O.P. to represent us. Salute F.O.P.!!!! 🫡
Is there anywhere we can read the contract? Also is there anything to help with the price of health care? All FOP is doing for us is appreciated, thank you all for your hard work.
I appreciate everything you guys have done for us. Not to be negative, but isn't Sen. Jeff Stone supposed to be "for" Law Enforcement? He was referenced on one of our meetings as the "For" Law Enforcement politician. He voted No on this bill (AB 522) and also voted No on the PERS bill (SB 388). So, how is this guy "For" Law Enforcement exactly? What bills has he voted for in favor of Law Enforcement?
I do, but getting older I wake up to pee sometimes!!! Lol! I can tel you after multiple conversations with Jeff, he does support us. He did go to bat for us with the Governor and it did help. The votes, I’m learning, are very complicated when you factor in the 2/3rds override. A Senator can’t ignore the party vote and just vote whichever way. They will not be in office long if they do. I have asked him and he is going to research 498, but does support the idea of lowering our PERS.
Thanks Lunk for the great news / update.
