Hello Mr. Lunkwitz! I have a question about the holiday pay. More specifically, the breakdown of it. I've heard it's double time, I've heard it's 2.5 times, and then there's OT on the holiday. So my question is what is the rates for the:
Regular 8 hours worked
The holiday pay (The PHPRM)
And is OT still at 1.5 times?
Thank you for all you've done for us! Keep up the great work!
Any word on when the new holiday code will be activated. It’s available on neats but we are not using it yet. This affects retirement pay.
Another Stein question. If our shift starts at 11pm and ends at 7:30am and we call in FMLA on the holiday, do we qualify for UFMHS or UHS? Example, on the 9/4 holiday. I called 9/3 going in 9/4 I called in FMLA and used my own time to cover the sick day. I indeed worked 9/4 11:00pm-12:00am. I was paid out correctly of the 9/4 11:00pm-12:00am the 1 hour holiday pay. Shouldn’t the 9/3 going into 9/4 been a holiday wash? And if not shouldn’t I have been paid out for the holiday since I used my own time to cover the FMLA call in? the excuse I'm getting is that I called in PP06 and that's why I don't qualify for the holiday pay nor UFMHS.
That’s correct
I'm assigned to Graveyard shift at Stein working from 11 pm - 07:30 am (30 minute lunch break). The last Holiday was on 10/27/23. I worked on 10/26 going into 10/27 from 11 pm - 07:30 am. If I understood our CBA correctly on page 42, states that “Holiday pay for Graveyard shift employees who either start their shift on a holiday or end their shift on a holiday will be paid for one shift of holiday compensation for their regular work hours per holiday.” . I should get the full 8 hours of Holiday Premium Pay and not 7 hours right?
I'm a little confused as to why all officers working on holidays are not being paid holiday premium and for all hours worked at holiday premium? There's also confusion when it comes to PSDOT for muster OT?
So I have a meeting next week with the LRU. We will be discussing several points of clarification in the CBA. For now, everyone will get double time and a half for all hours worked on the holiday. That is where it is at the moment. So there would be no overtime on a holiday, just PHPRM. For example you work 16 hours on a holiday it’s PHPRM for 16 hours. If you work your regular shift it’s PHPRM for 8 hours. I will let everyone know as soon as it is clarified at the meeting next week.
