Comment below: 1 for Act 1(Kratz and Toombs) or 2 for Act 2(J Romero)
Voting will close at 5 pm on Friday, May 17th. The winner(s) will be announced at the lodge meeting on May 19th.
ACT 1-
Our first nominated act occurred at SDCC/TLVCC.
Senior Officers Kratz and Toombs conducted life saving measures (CPR) on an offender who returned from an NDF worksite unresponsive, not breathing, and no heartbeat. They conducted these life saving measures for approximately ten to fifteen minutes until the offenders heart started beating. Officer Kratz and Officer Toombs saved the life of an offender, nay brought him back to life, as by all accounts he was dead and buried. Great job to both Officers!
ACT 2-
Our second nominated act occurred at HDSP.
On March 26, 2024 Officers E Gonzalez and Zuniga were conducting mass searches at HDSP, as instructed by supervisors. At approximately 1100 hours both officers were exposed to an unknown substance, they were given Narcan. Officer Zuniga was fine but Officer E. Gonzalez began to throw up and needed medical attention. While the officers were in operations waiting for their C1 packet and getting the ok to leave, Officer J Romero noticed that Officer E Gonzalez’s condition was deteriorating. J Romero and another officer picked up Gonzalez and walked him to the parking lot and put him into Romero’s vehicle along with Officer Zuniga. Zuniga stated that Romero got on the freeway passing vehicles including one state trooper. Undeterred, Officer J Romero did not stop until he had to exit the freeway. Romero did not care about himself or a ticket/fine, his only concern was Officer Gonzalez’s well being. Officer Gonzalez made a full recovery following his treatment and observation at the Hospital.
“I believe if it wasn’t for Romero getting Gonzalez to the hospital as fast as he did Gonzalez might have had permanent health problems. Officer J Romero is my nominee for the FOP Hero Award.”-undisclosed officer.
ACT-1. This is not the first time Senior Kratz saved a life. Not only this incident, but when Officer Turner was exposed to a unknown substance and he saved his life.
Agreed, both acts are awesome. Being that I was there for act 2, seeing how selfless and attentive officer Romero was, I’m going to have to say act 2 ☺️
Both Acts merit recognition and are award worthy. I vote for act 1 as this act resulted in the saving of a life from certain death; hopefully the inmate will reflect on this gift and make something useful of the remainder of his.
ACT 2
Act 2
ACT-1. This is not the first time Senior Kratz saved a life. Not only this incident, but when Officer Turner was exposed to a unknown substance and he saved his life.
Act-2
ACT 1 - Of course as I was there lol
Act 2
I agree with what most have said about both acts being commendable but Romero in Act 2 has my vote.
Both acts are worthy of recognition. But after long thought I have to vote for act 1.
Act 2 Romero

I vote for act 2
Officer Romero Act 2 Thank you Brother
Act 1
Both Acts are commendable.
But I vote for Act 2.
Act 2
Agreed, both acts are awesome. Being that I was there for act 2, seeing how selfless and attentive officer Romero was, I’m going to have to say act 2 ☺️
