I pulled this from our CBA and am wondering why we are not seeing this happen. I only accrue 4 hours a pay period for both when the CBA states this. Any idea when the NDOC will honor ALL rules per the CBA rather than just a handful of them?
12.3 ANNUAL LEAVE 12.3.1 Employees will retain and carry forward any eligible and unused Annual Leave accrued prior to the effective date of this Agreement. Carry forward of eligible and unused accrued Annual Leave is subject to a maximum of four hundred eighty (480) hours per calendar year. 12.3.2 Employees will be eligible to take Annual Leave after completion of six (6) months of continuous full-time service. 12.3.3 Accrual 12.3.3.1 For each calendar month of full-time continuous service, an employee is entitled to accrue Annual Leave at the following rate: 12.3.3.1.1 Employees with zero (0) to nine (9) years of full-time continuous service will accrue ten(10) hours of Annual Leave per month. 12.3.3.1.2 Employees with ten (10) to fourteen (14) years of fulltime continuous service will accrue twelve (12) hours of Annual Leave per month. 12.3.3.1.3 Employees with fifteen (15) or more years of full-time continuous service will accrue fourteen (14) hours of Annual Leave per month.
12.11.1 Accrual 12.11.1.1 A full-time employee in continuous full-time service, excluding Overtime, will accrue ten (10) hours of Sick Leave per month.
I do not really know what to beleive in the CBA because not everything is being followed. Thanks for your time.
This has been brought up by several officers before. Everyone needs to understand that 4 hours and 36 minutes per pay period adds up to 119 hours and 36 minutes per year. While technically it does not equal 120, this is something that will be addressed when we have cleaned up many of the other issues we are currently dealing with. It is at a rate of just under 10 hours per month. People forget that there are 26 pay periods and that the .36 is not a decimal, but minutes. If you convert 36 minutes to a decimal for purposes of multiplying, it equals .6(36/60). So 4.6 times 26 equals 119.6 or 119 hours and 36 minutes. This is something that we are aware of, but 2 minutes per pay period is not a high priority at the moment. In time we will address this.
